About Maureen Grayson
"My current work involves the use of paper as a painting medium. It has so many avenues yet to explore and its versatility is unlimited. I often work with crepe and tissue paper which have a wonderful 'bleed' effect on other surfaces within the composition. It also creates incredible textures which I like to build by over-layering and blending with pva and acrylic."
Born in Islington, North London, Maureen Grayson attended Hornsey Art College and also trained for the theatre.
As a freelance textile print designer during the early 90s, she sold numerous designs featuring bold and striking colours for the womenswear market.
Maureen Grayson now paints full time from her residence in Hampstead, London.
